Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools to help raise the attainment of pupils. It is paid to schools according to the number of pupils who have been registered as eligible for free school meals based on analysis of their household income. If a child has been eligible for free school meals or has been in care at any point in the past six years then they will be eligible for Pupil Premium Funding.
Pupil Premium Funding can be used for a range of interventions including helping with cost of school trips, music tuition fees, teaching assistant support staff and specialist learning resources.
If your child meets the criteria for Pupil Premium Funding then your school will receive the funding. It is important that all families check their eligibility to ensure that the funding is allocated appropriately.
Your school applicaiton form will ask for details of each parent including date of birth and national insurance number so that the Cambridgeshire County Council Welfare Benefits Team can check for eligibility.
