The Orchard Park nursery class is for children who are 3+ and is led by a qualified nursery teacher and support staff. The nursery class is part of the Orchard Park Community Primary School.
From April 2018, Orchard Park nursery class will offer both 15 and 30 hour places. We are delighted to be extending our nursery provision. This is a wonderful addition to the service we provide for the community we serve.
In Cambridgeshire, a child is deemed to be of nursery age from the beginning of the term following their 3rd birthday until 31st August following their fourth birthday. Children are eligible for a funded place for 15 hours from the beginning of the term following their 3rd birthday.
30 funded hours are available for those who meet certain criteria. Please click here for a copy of the leaflet '30 Hours Free Childcare for Working Families'. For further information and also a calculator to determine if you are eligible for 30 hours funding please consult the website below. If you would prefer to discuss eligibility, please phone Cambridgeshire County Council on 01480 373402.
Parents can chose one of the following options for a 15 hour nursery place:

For applications received for a child seeking admission in their term after their third birthday, places will be offered on a strictly first come first served basis.
Where more applications are received than places are available, places will be allocated in accordance with the following over-subscription criteria not according to the date of application:
1. Children with a sibling at Orchard Park CP School that live in catchment area.
2. Children in our catchment area in age order (oldest first).
3. Children with a sibling at Orchard Park CP School that do not live in catchment.
4. Chldren out of catchment area in age order (oldest first).
If a child does is not offered a place they will be put on the waiting list following the above mentioned criteria (NOT according to the date of application). When a place becomes available the next eligible family on the waiting list will be contacted to establish whether or not the vacancy suits their needs. Please click here for a copy of the Nursery Admissions Policy.
