Orchard Park Community Primary School

On behalf of everyone at Orchard Park Primary School, we would like to warmly welcome you to our school website. Please enjoy browsing through the information here. We hope it gives you a flavour of what our school is like, but if you have anything else you would like to know, please do not hesitate to contact the friendly staff in our office, who have a wealth of knowledge and will be delighted to hear from you.

Our school occupies a well-equipped and beautifully designed building, on a large site on the northern edge of Cambridge, surrounded by play space and embedded in the heart of the rich and diverse community which it serves. We value and respect that diversity, which is reflected in our pupil population – and we use every opportunity to learn about the cultural backgrounds and customs of all our families. We believe that in this way our pupils will grow into confident and caring citizens, able to play an active part in the increasingly complex and inter-dependent world in which we all live.

The children are at the centre of everything we do at Orchard Park. We provide all our pupils with a safe and exciting environment in which they are empowered to achieve their full potential. We aim to engage and inspire them to develop a love of learning and discovery, and to become confident and independent thinkers. At the same time we encourage them to see themselves as part of an effective learning community, celebrating their own achievements as well as sharing in the achievements of those around them.

We have a relentless commitment to the highest academic standards; our pupils make excellent progress and achieve high outcomes, armed with the confidence to make the most of their innate talents and skills, and with the perseverance to flourish and find success in areas they find challenging.

We develop confidence, self-esteem and courtesy in our pupils in the belief that they will move on to other settings as thoughtful, resilient and respectful members of the wider community, keen to explore and develop their interests and talents wherever they may lead.
